Another Sparkling Tilda CD Tin

Well, I finally finished the other CD tin for my son's other teacher this year. As I said in my previous post, he's going to have 2 teachers this year & I wanted to get a head start on their Christmas gifts. Here's what I came up with.

I did up this CD tin that's going to go one of Riley's teachers (he's got 2 this year) at Christmas. I'm going to make up a CD of Christmas music to put inside.

Finally a July Post

Happy July everyone!!! Sorry, I know it's been a while since my last post. My hubby & I have been on holidays & we've been spending a lot of family time with the boys.

My Mom asked me to create a Wedding card for her, as my parents are attending a wedding at the end of the month. I held off until I received my Wedding Collection stamps & finally created this card for her.

Materials: Card Stock (Bazzill, Wausau); Paper, Stamps, Flowers (Magnolia); Ink (Momento); Markers (Copic); Pen (Uniball); Ribbon (SU!); Lace (Dollarama); Stickles (Ranger); Rhinestone Swirls (Prima); Thickers - on envelope (American Crafts)

I recovered a manila bubble envelope to coordinate with the card. I want the card to arrive looking great (& unsquished), so recovering the envelope was my only solution.

I hope to be playing with them some more very soon, so stay tuned :)

My baby turns 7 years old tomorrow. Where did the past 7 years go?? Riley is such a sweet, thoughtful, loving, caring & friendly little boy. He loves his baby brother, his family & friends with all his heart. He loves sports (is very athletic) & school. He's growing up into quite the little man. Happy 7th Birthday Riley!!!

I can't believe that there's only 19 days left until my son is done Grade 1. Where did the time go?? It seems just like yesterday he was off to Kindergarten, then the first day of Grade 1. He'll be starting Grade 2 in September & is quite the young little man.

Stamp Shoppe Challenge & A Little Extra

Good afternoon all!! I'm feeling a little waterlogged. It's been raining for, what feels like, a week & it doesn't look like it's going to end until tomorrow. As long as it's bright, hot & sunny for the 5th, I don't care. My oldest son, Riley, turns 7 on Saturday & we're having some of his school friends over for a party. An outdoor party is on the agenda & I would like to keep it that way :)

Anyways, on to my last minute submission to the May challenge over at the Stamp Shoppe. Here's the challenge...we are to make a card using the colors Turquoise, Cream Peony, Honey Yellow, Saffron & Walnut. I must admit, I started on this challenge at the start of the month, but this card has been haunting me all month. I don't know, I can't put my finger on it. But, here it is anyways in all it's glory :)

Sorry for the lack of posts

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry for the lack of posts, but it's been crazy here. Our youngest son was admitted last Wednesday night to the hospital. He came down with what I thought was the flu Tuesday morning & by Wednesday night he was in bad shape. Poor little boy was badly dehydrated from Rotavirus; it's a virus that attacks the small intestine of children up to the age of 5 & causes vomiting, sever diarrhea & a fever. He was discharged 2 days later after being on an IV to rehydrate him & is doing much better, but is still recovering. My husband & I were taking shifts at the hospital so that someone would be with our oldest; he had the night shift & I had the day.

I'm still waiting for my Spring Club Kit to arrive. I've emailed Magnolia, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they reply soon & that it arrives promptly. I really don't want to have to wait as long as I did for the last Winter Kit.

Now that things are starting to get back to normal, I'm planning on having some cards done this week to submit for some of this weeks challenges.

With the approval of my oldest son, this is going to be his 7th birthday party invitation. He turns 7 on June 5th. I changed the size to 4"x4", so that it wasn't too big. I've made every one of his birthday party invitations for the past 7 years. This year I have to make 13 of this particular invite.

I ordered the Spring Club Kit from Magnolia (praying that there isn't a repeat problem like last time). I still haven't received it yet, but I am hopeful that it arrives sometime this week. From what I've seen...it's way too adorable!

Here's a card I did up which so happens to work for 2 Challenges - the Stamp Shoppe & Roses on Paper.

The challenge on the Stamp Shoppe is a shaped card. Any shape except square or rectangle. Over at Roses on Paper, the challenge is layers. Here's what I came up with.

I was asked by my grandmother to make an anniversary card for my sister & brother-in-law (I make all her birthday & anniversary cards). Using this week's Just Magnolia Challenge sketch, this is the card I came up with .

My 1st Heartbreak Edwin Card

Happy St. Patrick's Day! For me, this is the day when I celebrate & cherish my Irish ancestry. My oldest son proudly wore his Ireland rugby shirt, took his stuffed leprechaun Finnegan & a picture of a leprechaun's house (taken on Aren Island, Ireland) to school. All were items my parents brought back from Ireland for him when they went there last year for a month. I'm wearing my Claddagh ring & necklace proudly.

Well, it looks like spring is coming :) I'm so happy to see all this snow finally melt.

As promised, here's my first card I made with my newly arrived Winter Kit :) It is also my entry in this week's Just Magnolia Challenge.

I finally bought some Glacier Glimmer Mist to use on my flowers. Before I applied the Glimmer Mist I inked the edges of the white roses with Weathered Wood Distress Ink then sprayed the mist. I figured the roses wouldn't look so white & it would complement the blue roses nicely.

Happy Sunday!! The sun is shining, the snow is melting, it's gorgeous outside & my Winter Kit finally arrived. What a wonderful start to spring :) I have to admit, I was skeptical as to whether or not my Kit was actually going to arrive, so I purchased some from Heidi over at the Little Stamp Shoppe. As it turns out I ordered Sweet Tilda & my Kit contained Sweet Tilda. I don't need 2, so I'm going to give my extra as my 1st Blog Candy. She's on EZ Mount & ready to be inked. If you want her just use Mister Linky & if you want to spread the word that would be wonderful (& much appreciated), but necessary.

I'm working on some new cards using my new stamps. However, I've been delayed with the passing of my husband's grandmother last week & her funeral this past Friday. But, I am working on some cards & will post them soon.

Valentine Easel Card

Good afternoon!! The Scott Tournament of Hearts is on as I'm writing up this post. I love curling!! I use to curl back in the day (before kids), but now I'm just a spectator.

I just finished my first easel card & I'm quite proud of it. It's a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card. I received my Magonlia Ink Fairy Tale Magazine & some Magnolia flowers in the mail Friday from the Little Stamp Shoppe. I LOVE the new issue of Magnolia Ink & I LOVE those Magnolia flowers that I've seen the DT use. They are so cute & precious.

Now on to my first easel card. I made this for my husband. Pretty safe to post this, as I know he doesn't check out my blog :)

Summer Edwin Birthday Invite

My baby is turning 2 on the 17th . I can't believe it! Time sure flies.
Every since my oldest was born, I have always made his birthday invitations...whether it's just for a family party or for a kids party; doesn't matter, I can't seem to buy generic store invitations. They take me days to make because they have to be perfect...nothing but the absolute best for my boys :) I always make an extra that I always plan to put into their albums, of course.

Here's Tristan's invitation that I made up for the family party.

Well, here I am up to my waist in snow. We're in the middle of a winter snow & blizzard warning here in southern Saskatchewan. I haven't seen this much snow in about 6 years. The snow drifts are crazy (probably at least 3 feet high). My front lawn has probably 3 feet of snow covering it. Living in Saskatchewan we come to expect this.

Chef Tilda Birthday Card

The weather is still gorgeous & I really don't want it to end, but living here you know that anything is possible...the weather could completely change in 5 mins.

Here's my first birthday card using Chef Tilda. I LOVE all the little roses that everyone uses & these ones are the closest I could find here in Canada. I especially love the idea of altering the color with Glimmer Mist, as I did here. It was a Ivory rose that I sprayed with Red Glimmer Mist.

I'm going to have cards for foot & hand prints & cards for each month where they can add pictures of their son (yes :) , they know that they are having a boy :) ) throughout his first year. There's what the box looks like so far. I'm still working on the cards.

a Christmas Card

Well, I'm back :) I missed you all. I finished my memory book/guest book for my grandfather's funeral & it turned out great :) I miss him terribly, but am comforted by the fact that he is no longer in pain.

Here's a Christmas card I did for a friend. She ordered 20 :) Lots of fun to make. I used last year's Santa & this years Merry Christmas stamp.

Sad news

Just thought I'd post a little heads up. I'm probably not going to be posting for a week or so. My grandfather passed away last Tuesday morning at the age of 91. I was with him when he went. He was a great man, & a wonderful grandfather. I will miss him terribly, but am comforted with the knowing that he didn't pass alone. As my usual self, I offered to make the guest book for the funeral. I do have 2 weeks until then, however I'm planning on making it a photo/scrapbook album as well as a guest book. It's a special project & one that I want to take my time with. But, as soon as it's done I'll have some new creations to post.

I'm home from my scrapbooking weekend & I had a fabulous time!! It was a great, fun & productive weekend :) I was super happy because my Magnolia Ink arrived right before I had to leave, so I was able to take it with me. It's so fabulous!!! I even introduced some ladies to Magnolia & made a thank you card for our hostess using my Magnolias :)

Anyways, I made this card today. Along with my magazine, I also ordered some of the Magnolia paper from Heidi over at the Little Stamp Shoppe, so here's a card using my new paper :)

I know it's November 1st & Halloween has just past, however, I needed to make a thank you card for a lady that my DH works with. She thinks enough of our DS's that she made them up each a Halloween bucket filled with goodies & stuff. It was so thoughtful of her...she's so sweet! So, I had to make her a thank you card & I thought I'd make it Halloween themed.

This is a card I did up for my Grandma for my cousin's birthday. My Grandma has me use the SheetLoad ShortCuts Gift Card Holders for all the family birthday & anniversary cards. Sadly, Alicia is going out of business, so these wonderful cards are on limited quantity. Anyways, here's the card.

I'm so happy!! I finally got my computer back from Geek Sqaud this morning. I was lost without it. I did, however, loose everything that was on it :( But, at least I got it back :)
